Stephanie
Tanner is an environmental engineer with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, responsible for developing water
efficiency and performance specifications under the
WaterSense Program. Prior to EPA, she managed a water-efficiency program for
federal facilities and wrote a number of guides to water efficiency for federal
facilities. Tanner has also worked for the U.S. and German Navies and served in
the Merchant Marine as a shipboard engineer. She holds a B.S. in Engineering and
a Masters of Engineering Management.
With the ultimate goal of saving water resources for future generations, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a new partnership program: WaterSense. Everyone plays a role in this public-private partnership-manufacturers, utilities, retailers and distributors. Plumbing engineers can get involved by specifying and designing for high-efficiency products in their projects.
