After more than a year of discussions on how the ASME, ICC and the CSA could maintain the A112 series of standards, the parties agreed the sponsorship would remain as is with CSA and ASME. Additionally, the A112 standards development process could be streamlines to help make committee members’ time for effective and produce resulting products faster.

Finally, all parties agreed to consider increasing additional stakeholder interest to improve market acceptance as the standards are updated in the future.

During the discussions, all parties confirmed from the outset that what was best for the industry, stakeholders, and the technical committee would be the criteria driving any change in how future updates to the standards would be created.
