Operation Life Safety newsletter offers officials advice.

The Operation Life Safety (OLS) newsletter has the following words of advice for fire officials trying to figure out what to do about possible faulty Central Omega sprinklers: While action by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is on hold, OLS recommends that fire officials identify systems with Omega heads and have adequate samples tested by Central or Underwriters Laboratories. If all sampled heads operate at or below the 7 psi minimum pressure requirement, then OLS says leave the heads in place pending CPSC decisions. If any of the heads fail to operate at 7 psi, order all the heads on the system to be replaced with other model heads.
