New testing conducted recently by Harvel Plastics, Inc. at Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. proves that the company’s ULC-listed CPVC piping products have exceptionally low flame spread and smoke development ratings when tested to ASTM E-84 Steiner Tunnel Testing (UL 723). The tests demonstrate that Harvel® CPVC pipe (1) cannot be the ignition source of a fire, (2) will not sustain burning, (3) must be forced to burn due to its high limiting oxygen index, (4) is considered self-extinguishing and (5) has a low heat of combustion.
