The International Firestop Council (IFC) has introduced its Firestop Inspector Training Program. Available to building inspectors and officials throughout the United States and Canada, the program provides an in-depth look at proper installation techniques and code enforcement of firestopping.

The free two-hour seminar focuses on the requirements, proper inspection, and enforcement needed for different firestop applications. Developed and presented by IFC's industry experts, the presentation enables inspectors and officials to accurately identify proper firestopping to ensure today's building codes are being met. The Inspector Training Program has been approved by The American Institute of Architects (AIA), and participants can receive AIA continuing education credits.

IFC also offers half-day, full-day and other specialized seminars for fire fighters, architects, engineers and consultants on a variety of firestopping topics. These seminars are often incorporated into regularly scheduled building official meetings as part of their periodic training requirements.
