The average cost of residential drinking for a family of four using 100 gal. per person per day rose by 4%, according to Circle of Blue’s annual survey of 30 large U.S. cities. This was the smallest increase since the survey began in 2010. For a family of four using 50 gal. per person per day, the average price rose 4.6% and the median increase for both scenarios was 3%.
According to the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute, shipments of commercial storage water heaters dropped 15.5% in April 2017 compared to April 2016. The total number of units moved year-to-year was down 7,630. Also, commercial electric storage water heater shipments decreased 1.7% in the same timespan.
According to analysis of U.S. Department of Labor statistics by the Associated General Contactors of America, 42 states added construction jobs between May 2016 and May 2017. California and Rhode Island added the most jobs over the year, where Missouri and the District of Columbia saw the largest decline.
