The BIMForum released the first-of-its kind standard establishing definitions for how complete BIMs need to be for different stages of the design and construction process.
Section 1.2.1 of National Fire Protection Association 13, “Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems,” states the purpose of the standard is to “provide a reasonable [emphasis added] degree of protection for life and property from fire through standardization of design, installation and testing requirements for sprinkler systems.”
Fire protection systems are a critical part of commercial, industrial, retail and industrial buildings. When called upon in a fire event, the equipment will save lives and reduce property damage.
