Last month, ICC completed the technical code changes to the 2024 Edition of the International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Mechanical Code (IMC) and International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Yes, you read that correctly — the 2024 editions of these codes.
Individual building safety professionals and organizations were recognized by ICC for going above and beyond for their communities, the industry and the association.
As part of his responsibilities, Anderson will work with the Code Council’s team of experts to develop, coordinate, and implement PMG programs and services related to the International Codes (I-Codes).
ICC held its very first virtual code change hearings in April and May. Let us hope it is the last time they hold them virtually. While technology has advanced, I think everyone got tired of the statement, “Can you hear me now?”
The goal is to include approximately 30 members for each committee that represent a diverse array of experience in building types and energy efficiency strategies, as well as racial, gender and socio-economic diversity.
While the hearings are virtual, the committees will actually be live at the ICC Central Regional Office in Country Club Hills, Illinois. The committee, ICC staff and moderators will all be operating from the office, while everyone else participates virtually.
Building Safety Month 2021 celebrates the industry’s resilience throughout the pandemic and looks to continue creating safe and sustainable buildings and communities.
