World Water Day is an annual international event commemorated on March 22 to raise awareness of the importance of water and how it affects our daily lives. World Water Day 2023 marks the extension of Ferguson’s community partnership with The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO). Through Ferguson’s support of IAPMO’s Innovation Fund, and their charitable arm, the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), we are urging people to think more carefully about their interactions with water throughout their day to appreciate its value better.
It is estimated that the average person uses about 80-100 gallons (about half the volume of a large refrigerator) of water every day for basic needs such as drinking, cooking, washing dishes, laundry, bathing and watering plants — to name a few activities. It’s easy to take for granted how much we rely on clean and safe water in our daily routines.
