To help lower the long-term effects of costly maintenance on commercial flushing systems, Kohler released its flushometers with its exclusive Hybrid Energy System. The system provides an estimated 30-year battery lifespan compared to the standard three- to five-year expectancy of commercial flushometer batteries. The energy system has a hybrid-layered capacitor that collects the small electrical discharges of the battery. When the unit is activated for use, power is drawn from the capacitor, allowing the cell to maintain its power storage.
