Lubrizol CPVC’s BlazeMaster fire sprinkler systems recently achieved UL approval for exposed use in residential basements constructed with composite wood joists. BlazeMaster systems meet the growing need for pipe and fittings compatible with increasingly popular engineered wood floor joist products. The product line significantly reduces the overall installed cost of NFPA 13D sprinkler systems in homes. The system can reduce costs up to 30% when installing a fire sprinkler system in a new or existing home. The corrosion-free systems are approved in this application in addition to their approval for unprotected installations in basements constructed with solid wood joists.
