Fujitsu General America introduces its RLS2H ductless systems. The new extra-low-ambient temperature heat pumps, available in 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000 Btu configurations, reach 27.2 SEER. By using a large heat exchanger and high-capacity compressor, the units can provide heating operation with outdoor temperatures as low as -15° F. Fujitsu’s energy-saving program is standard on the new Halcyon systems. Motion sensors note when a room has been vacated and after 20 minutes the set temperature is increased by 4° F when in cooling mode and reduced by 8° F when heating. When the room is reoccupied, the ESP returns to the previous operating mode. The units are ideal for residential applications, including sunrooms and additions, and commercial applications where small size and quiet operation are a good fit for small offices in providing individual temperature control.
