The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute (PMI) is repeating its popular two-day workshop on codes, standards, conformity assessment, certification and other plumbing industry basics. It will be held at PMI's Schaumburg, IL, facility on Feb. 3-4. The workshop is free to PMI members, $250 to nonmember first attendees and $150 for everyone thereafter. In other PMI news, the organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce to enhance international trade opportunities for plumbing product manufacturers, and to help ensure a level playing field for them in global competition. By this action, PMI expects to better utilize export promotion programs, facilitate government assistance for plumbing manufacturers facing foreign trade barriers and intellectual property rights violations, and improve the effectiveness of Commerce Dept. programs.
