In response to California Assembly Bill 1953 (AB1953), which takes effect Jan. 1, 2010, Chicago Faucets has introduced its ECAST line of durable, high quality brass faucets and fixtures, including deck mounted and wall mounted faucets, metering faucets, stop valves, specialty fittings and bubblers.

On January 1, 2010, California Assembly Bill 1953 (AB1953) will take effect and establish new lead content levels for faucets, pipes and plumbing fittings. Products affected by this bill will need to receive certification from an independent, ANSI-approved, third party testing organization in order to be sold and installed in the State of California.  In response to this bill, Chicago Faucets is proud to introduce their ECAST™ line.

Chicago Faucets ECAST line provides a complete offering of durable, high quality brass faucets and fixtures, including deck mounted and wall mounted faucets, metering faucets, stop valves, specialty fittings and bubblers. The line was developed specifically to meet the AB1953 standard requiring faucets intended to dispense water for human consumption must not exceed a total weighted average of 0.25% maximum lead content.

“This new line of faucets has already received certification from IAPMO, an independent, ANSI-approved, testing organization,” said Andreas Nowak CEO of Chicago Faucets. “More importantly, ECAST will be in California beginning October, 2008, 14 months before the law actually takes effect.”

In addition to offering ECAST faucets for installation in October 2008, Chicago Faucets can assist with specifications and quotes for upcoming projects immediately. This is important since the new law will very likely impact projects that are currently in the planning stages.  Facilities that should consider ECAST faucets include: schools, universities, hospitals and other healthcare facilities, as well as restaurants and food service facilities.

“Chicago Faucets is proud to continually take a leadership position for product quality, innovation, conservation and safety,” added Nowak.  “Our aggressive approach in developing ECAST faucets, combined with our water conservation, sustainability and anti-microbial initiatives, will allow our customers to install the finest commercial grade faucets available with the added peace-of-mind that they meet the latest safety standards in California.”
