ProVent System’s Trap Guard device is a new code-approved alternative to trap primers. The guard uses no potable water to refill lost trap seals and is simply press-fit into any tailpiece or drainpipe in its closed position. Its flex material will open when water discharges and then immediately closes to prevent both water-seal evaporation and any possible sewer gas emissions. The Trap Guard device can be installed in new, as well as seldom-used existing drains that have sewer gas emissions or bug problems. See Plumbing Code Listing ICC-ES TMP 1091.
