NFPA and WCFA Sign Agreement to Jointly Develop Fire Code
The National Fire Protection Associations and the Western Fire Chiefs Associations have signed an agreement to jointly develop a fire code.
The National Fire Protection Associations and the Western Fire Chiefs Associations have signed an agreement to jointly develop a harmonized fire code that integrates NFPA 1, Fire Prevention CodeR. and the Uniform Fire Code, the two most adopted fire codes in the country.
According to WCFA President Jim Rankin, the collaboration will provide an unprecedented opportunity for representative participation by the fire service in a fire code developed under NFPA's ANSI process. For fire service and users of the Uniform Fire Code, the agreement ensures the availability of support services and correlation opportunities for the future, and it also provides a pathway to potential adoption on a much broader national and international scale.
