Strategies for minimizing risk and the liabilities associated with tough contracts, new leadership and M&A activity were just some of the topics discussed by design industry leaders recently gathered at the 15th Annual Design Professionals Risk Control Group (DPRCG) Loss Prevention Convocation, sponsored in conjunction with the Design Professional Group of XL Insurance.

The annual forum, held in Orlando, FL, in 2004, draws executives from the nation's largest architectural and engineering design firms for discussions on the top risk management concerns facing the industry, and educational programs that outline effective strategies to minimize risks.

Topics discussed at the meeting included managing risks in a decentralized branch office environment, modifying client contract terms, leadership transitions, mergers and acquisitions, controlling the risks of a tough contract, and quality programs.
