Of the 480 who took the 1998 CIPE exam, 342 passed the test. Since 1983, nearly 2,100 people have passed the CIPE exam, which is offered in even-numbered years (since 1984).
As of May 1, 1998, all individuals with Certified In Plumbing Engineering status will have two years to accumulate a total of 24 Recertification Education Units (REUs) required to maintain the CIPE certification.
