Fire Control Instruments has announced the E3, an expandable emergency evacuation system.

Fire Control Instruments (FCI), a part of Honeywell's Life Safety Group, has announced the E3, an expandable emergency evacuation system. The E3's capabilities extend beyond basic fire protection, as the system is proficient in emergency mass notification and evacuation as well. With its modular construction, the E3 is easy to install, and components can be purchased as needed to expand the system over time. A peer-to-peer network operating at 625K Baud, the E3 can be arranged as Style 4 or Style 7 using two conductor unshielded wire or fiber cables. The network riser includes paging, firefighter telephones, and input/output capabilities. The E3 incorporates a broad range of existing components, and boasts improvements on existing technology with the addition of network-enabled ILI-MB and ILI-S fire panels, which can store 8 MB of memory. Additionally, the E3 has added RPT-FO and RPT-UPT repeaters and a new LCD-E3 network display that can support up to 40 characters. With the creation of an external DACT-485, the interface is more easily accessible with improved transient protection.Fire Control Instruments.
