Delta Faucet Co. and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) have announced their Plumbing Contractor and Plumbing Apprentice of the Year for 2004.

At a ceremony held in conjunction with the 22nd Annual PHCC Convention in Boston recently, Delta Faucet Co. and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) announced the Plumbing Contractor and Plumbing Apprentice of the Year, prestigious awards recognizing excellence in the plumbing industry. At a related luncheon, scholarship recipients for six students in plumbing related studies were announced.

Pat Ellingson and Tom Hills, owners of Ellingson Plumbing, Heating & AC in Alexandria, MN, were named Contractor of the Year. Three PHCC contractors received runners-up honors: Anthony Gemma of Lincoln, RI (first runner-up); Paul Nebrasky of Monroe, NY (second runner-up); and James S. Steinle of Virginia Beach, VA (third runner-up).

Danilo Rivera of Alexandria, VA, was named Plumbing Apprentice of the Year in recognition of his excellent work ethic and plumbing proficiency.

Delta Faucet Co. also announced the recipients of its six $2,500 scholarships-five awarded to students attending four-year colleges and one awarded to a student at a two-year college.

Recipients of scholarships as part of a four-year college education are: Sarah Bodenheimer of Winston Salem, NC; Woodham F. Favinger of Bellingham, WA; Thomas Haren of Lowellville, OH; Steven J. Kearns of Manchester, PA; and Johnny J. Mendias, III of Ft. Stockton, TX. The scholarship recipient attending a two-year college is Eric Neischultz of Bay Port, MI.

The purpose of the Delta Faucet Co. Scholarship Program is to elevate the technical and business competence of the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) industry by awarding scholarships to students who are enrolled in a major directly related to the p-h-c profession at an accredited four-year college or university or an accredited two-year technical college, community college or trade school.
