The 2021 edition delivers critical guidance for designers and operators of these front-line facilities and incorporates 17 addenda to the 2017 edition of the standard.
There were 347 changes proposed to the Uniform Plumbing Code, and 349 code changes proposed to the Uniform Mechanical Code. While the numbers seem high, they are actually consistent with previous code change cycles.
The goal is to include approximately 30 members for each committee that represent a diverse array of experience in building types and energy efficiency strategies, as well as racial, gender and socio-economic diversity.
While the hearings are virtual, the committees will actually be live at the ICC Central Regional Office in Country Club Hills, Illinois. The committee, ICC staff and moderators will all be operating from the office, while everyone else participates virtually.

The American Supply Association (ASA) recently joined the Alliance for Water Efficiency in its appeal to the United States Department of Energy related to allowable flow-rate changes for multi-head showers, and the subsequent negative affects it will have on business operations for ASA members, as well as overall negative water-efficiency consequences that will result.
