Everett C. Wilcox


Everett C. Wilcox, chairman of the board of the Leonard Valve Company, passed away on Dec. 15, 2006, at the age of 89. On Dec. 12, he celebrated his 68th year of employment with the company.

He began his employment at Leonard in 1938, acting as salesman, assistant sales manager, and member of the board of directors. He was elected president of Leonard Valve Company in Cranston in 1955 and remained in that position until 1991 when he was appointed chairman of the board of directors.

In 1973, Wilcox was elected as president of the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute, then known as the Plumbing Brass Institute. He served as treasurer and then chairman of the board of the Metal Trades Association of Rhode Island for a number of terms. He also served as chairman of the board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island from 1976 until 1991.
