Hello from Budapest, Hungary!
I arrived in Hungary and quickly went to the Grundfos Hungary in the city of Tatabanya.
Since opening in 2000, the Grundfos Hungary has quickly become the second largest manufacturing facility for the company. The facility manufactures many different pumps ranging in sizes as well as products for the company’s wastewater product line.
What struck me was how a factory tour in Denmark looks just like a factory tour in Hungary. All the workers wear Grundfos shirts and the lines look the same. I think that stresses the idea of being a global company. Grundfos is able have its many facilities in vastly different countries working in harmony and pushing in the same direction.

A couple of other thoughts to wrap up this incredible excursion:
- I was only in Budapest for 24 hours, but it already has become one of my favorite cities. The architecture is beautiful and the other sights were incredible. I’m already trying to convince my wife to come with me as soon as possible.
- Many thanks to our host from Grundfos, Dorte Maach. She got us from place to place with aplomb, amazingly helpful (especially to me after I left something of importance in a hotel four hours away), and very fun and sweet. I will never forget this trip.
