How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
JW:
As second generation, I have been around the industry for most of my life.  I joined full time in January of 2005 after college. I am closing in on 18 years within the PHCP-PVF.

What drew you into the industry?
JW:
I truly believe our industry is one of the best-kept secrets. So many people overlook it without a true understanding of the importance of our industry. There is always an opportunity to help someone in need; to help turn someone’s day around while at the same time there are a lot of great people within the industry as well.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
JW:
The people. I truly enjoy going to work every day with the people I work with. I am lucky to come to work with some of the greatest coworkers in the industry and we have some of the best customers and manufacturers that allow us to help grow their business daily. All the hard work and dedication put forth by your team can achieve results that flow throughout multiple organizations and families.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
JW:
The PHCP-PVF Industry plays a critical role within our society. Our industry being labeled as essential during the pandemic was a step forward in helping people realize how important water and sanitary concerns are and cannot be overlooked. The access to clean and drinkable water and disposal of sanitary waste as well as all other aspects of our industry sadly are not recognized until you are without.

What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
JW:
I have been fortunate to have experienced several proud achievements within my career but when I look back and think about this question, it is the hard moments and how our team has come together and put strong actionable plans to work and overcome these obstacles and turn them into long term success that I am proud of.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
JW:
I enjoy learning. Whenever I have a free time, I try to learn something new. I am always trying to better myself through education.
