ICC, ASHRAE consolidate standard in response to call of industry
After nearly two years of discussion, the International Code Council and ASHRAE have signed an agreement that outlines each group’s role in the development and maintenance of the new version of the International Green Construction Code (IgCC).
The code, which is set to be released later this year, will be powered by ANSI/ASHRAE/ICC/IES/USGBC Standard 189.1 (entitled Standard for the Design of High-Performance, Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings) and was developed using the ANSI-approved ASHRAE consensus process.
