Caleffi introduces the ASME-registered 2”-6” flanged DIRTMAG providing 2 1/2 times the magnetite removal performance of standard dirt separators and delivering up to 95% elimination efficiency. Highly abrasive and microscopic magnetic particles form in hydronic systems when iron or steel corrodes. Particles can deposit onto heat exchanger surfaces and accumulate in pump cavities causing reduced thermal efficiency and premature wear. DIRTMAG separators offer highly efficient separation of typical dirt as well as magnetite, which is captured by a concentrated magnetic field created by a stack of neodymium rare-earth magnets inside a brass drywell below the flow stream.
