Kohler Co. was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program with the group’s first-ever WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award. Kohler is being recognized for its long-term efforts to increase consumer awareness of water issues and provide products to conserve water in homes and businesses.

“Kohler Co. is very proud to be the inaugural recipient of the WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award,” said Rob Zimmerman, Kohler’s senior channel manager of sustainability. “Kohler has been a strong supporter of WaterSense since its beginning, so receiving this award is recognition from the EPA that our efforts are making a difference.”

To qualify for the Sustained Excellence Award, a partner must have won three WaterSense Partner of the Year awards in the past five years and must have applied in each of those years. Kohler has received a number of WaterSense awards, including the Manufacturer Partner of the Year Award in 2008, 2009 and 2012. The company also received Excellence awards in 2011 and 2012.

WaterSense highlighted Kohler’s increased online efforts, including its water-efficiency website and the integration of water-saving information at www.us.kohler.com, as well as its social media outreach.

Other WaterSense award-winners include Delta Faucet (Large Manufacturer Partner of the Year) and Niagara Conservation (Small Manufacturer Partner of the Year).
