The U.S. Green Building Council recently reported an increase in the number of LEED-certified projects among states ranked in the Top 10 for number of LEED buildings in 2012.
LEED-certified schools increased 76% among Top 10 states last year, while there was a 67% increase for new LEED retail construction projects. New LEED retail commercial interiors rose 51%. New LEED construction increased 35%, while commercial interior-certified projects also increased 35%. LEED-certified existing buildings (operations and maintenance) rose 33%, while LEED-certified core and shell projects increased 17%.
