Project:
Installation of Gerber Ultra-Flush
high-efficiency toilets.
Nuts and Bolts:
The Pleasant Lakes Apartments outside Cleveland recently
completed a major green renovation project with the installation of about 640
Gerber Ultra Flush high-efficiency toilets, which use 1.1 gallons per flush.
The retrofit is expected to save 4.5 million gallons of water annually and will
conserve nearly 22.5 million gallons of water in five years, notesBrian Doughtery, national sales manager for
Gerber. That’s enough water to fill 34 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Dougherty
adds Western Reserve Property Management, the owners of the complex, have
conducted similar eco-friendly plumbing replacements in many of its Cleveland properties to
help conserve water.
