Merger creates leading MEP engineering and architectural design firm in the Northeast.

BBS Architects & Engineers, P.C., a leading designer of institutional, educational and commercial facilities in the Northeast, acquired the professional team and practice ofWard Associates, P.C., a Bohemia, N.Y.-headquartered engineering, master planning, architecture, landscape architecture, sports facilities design and surveying firm active in the Greater New York area and throughout the New York State.

Roger P. Smith, AIA, LEED AP, will lead the expanded design firm as president, principal and lead architect. The merged companies will operate under the new name ofBBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers, PC. The company will be headquartered at BBS’ office in Patchogue, N.Y., and offer a full scope of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil engineering as well as architectural services to clients in the Northeast and nationwide.

“The addition of the Ward Associates team to BBS’s practice brings together the talents and extensive expertise of two highly distinguished and service-driven design firms.  Following the acquisition, BBS manages on-going projects valued at approximately $220 million and offers a complete range of engineering and architectural services to educational, institutional and governmental clients,” said BBS Principal and Lead Architect Roger P. Smith, AIA, LEED AP.

Following the expansion, BBS’ personnel include more than 50 MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and civil engineers, architects, planners, interior designers, landscape architects, lighting designers, project managers and support staff.
