Robert C. Burns, retired president of Philadelphia-based Burns Engineering Inc., was presented the 2003 Distinguished Award of Merit by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) during the group's recent annual awards banquet honoring engineering excellence.
The Distinguished Award of Merit recognizes an individual who has made significant strides toward advancing the engineering profession, provided exceptional service to the ACEC/PA and demonstrated sustained service to the community. Throughout his career, Burns was renowned for his efforts to help further the success of Pennsylvania's electrical engineering firms, his dedication to advancing the consulting engineers' profession and his commitment to community service.
