The worker safety program in place at the Elkay Savanna, IL, cooler manufacturing facility was recognized with the company's 2004 Elkay President's Safety Award. This is the third time and the second year in a row this facility has received the award.
Each year, Elkay recognizes two facilities with the most outstanding overall safety record. Selection is based on criteria that include a comparison of on-site safety practices, accomplishments of the plan's safety committee and plant size.
The Savannah plant was recognized in the large plant category for its record of establishing the best processes, procedures and training. The Elkay Division sink plant in Ogden, UT, was recognized with the President's "Best Small Plant Award."
