The ISH North America Partners and Reed Exhibitions have announced that the 2004 New England Plant Engineering & Facilities Management (PE&FM) Show and Conference will be co-located with the ISH NA trade show Oct. 14-16 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The PE&FM event will run concurrently with ISH NA Oct. 14 and 15. It is expected to attract approximately 2,000 additional attendees with engineering backgrounds.
The co-located show will offer attendees the products and technologies to minimize downtime, manage costs and increase productivity in plant operations. In addition, industry professionals will have the opportunity to learn how to run facilities safer, smoother and more efficiently. John Denke, event director for Reed Exhibitions, remarked, "A large number of our attendees are involved in the design, specification, remodeling and replacement aspect of commercial buildings. Therefore, virtually all products shown at ISH North America are relevant to our attendees. Co-locating the two events will serve to provide new business and networking opportunities."
"The plant and facility engineering professionals attracted by the co-located show makes this event a perfect match for the exhibitor at ISH North America," agreed Inge Calderon, executive vice president, American Supply Association. Ralph Suppa, chief executive officer, Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating, added, "Engineers are among the top target groups for exhibitors. Attracting an audience of engineers to ISH North America provides tremendous value to the show."
ISH NA's list of endorsers includes a number of additional industry-leading associations. Recent additions include the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the New England Fuel Institute (NEFI), the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), Women in HVAC and the Water Quality Association (WQA).
"From its very launch, ISH North America has been dedicated to achieving industry trade show consolidation. We are encouraged by the list of prominent returning and new supporters of this concept," stated Ike Casey, executive vice president, PHCC. "The additional engineers attracted to the event will be particularly relevant to the radiant panel exhibitors," added Lawrence Drake, executive director, Radiant Panel Association (RPA). RPA joined the ISH NA partnership in 2003, and radiant panel companies are expected to have a significant presence for the first time at the upcoming show.
"Reflecting the gathering momentum, exhibitor commitments to ISH North America are currently more than 13% ahead of the same time last year. We expect this trend to continue and still strengthen," remarked Roland Bleinroth, president, Messe Frankfurt, Inc. Over 500 exhibiting companies are expected to present their latest products and services to an audience of some 12,000 attendees made up of contractors, wholesalers, engineers, architects, designers and facility managers.
The trade show will be accompanied by a comprehensive seminar program featuring educational sessions in the areas of business management/marketing, environmental systems, hydronics, radiant heating, HVAC, kitchen & bath, and plumbing. Dan Holohan, renowned author, guru and booster of the hydronic heating industry, and columnist for PME and other magazines, will be the keynote speaker on Oct. 14. He will also address the topic, "Top 10 Things We Do With Steam," in a workshop on Oct. 14.
Additional ISH NA speakers include Jim Olsztynski, consulting editor of PME, who will moderate a panel discussion about the future of manufacturing in America Oct. 16, and Julius Ballanco, PME's codes columnist, presenting two programs Oct. 14-"Hot Water Scalding and How to Protect Your Company & Customer," and "DVW-Design/Protection Against SARS and Infectious Diseases." Other notable names from PME's pages include John Siegenthaler, addressing "Multi-Load Systems" in a program Oct. 15, and Matt Freije, who will speak on "Avoiding Liability Related to Legionnaires' Disease: A Checklist of Do's and Don'ts" Oct. 14.
