The newly passed South Carolina Boiler Safety Act calls for the adoption of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
The South Carolina Boiler Safety Act (S.581), passed into law on May 19, 2005, calls for the adoption of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Under the provisions of S.581, the state's Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation must follow the rules and requirements specified in the ASME code regarding new boiler installations. The new law also calls for inspections to conform to the minimum safety requirements of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
