For the second time in four years, the worker safety program in place at the Elkay Savanna, IL, sink manufacturing facility was recognized with the company's 2003 Elkay President's Safety Award.

Each year, Elkay recognizes the plant with the most outstanding overall safety record. Selection is based on criteria that include a comparison of onsite safety with best practices and accomplishments of the plant's safety committee. This year, two awards were presented based on plant size.

The Savanna plant was recognized in the large plant category for its record of establishing the best processes, procedures and training. The Elkay Division plant in Ogden, UT, was recognized with the President's Best Small Plant Award.

In presenting the awards, Elkay President & COO Jack Edl commented, "The award is the result of intensive training and motivation, critical analysis of safety issues, implementation of new practices and evaluation for continual improvement."
