ASTM Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems has issued F 2164, Standard Practice for Field Leak Testing of Polyethylene Pressure Piping Systems Using Hydrostatic Pressure. This standard practice uses a pressurized liquid to test for leaks in newly constructed or modified polythylene pressure piping systems before they are put in service.
