PM Engineer is now accepting nominations for its Engineering Firm of the Year award. The award was established to identify and honor an outstanding plumbing or mechanical engineering company. Six criteria will be used to select what best exemplifies an engineering firm committed to being the best at what it does in the field of plumbing, piping, hydronics or sprinklers. They are:

  • Innovation in design

  • Customer satisfaction

  • Ability to meet schedules

  • Industry involvement

  • Completeness and thoroughness (regarding projects)

  • Community involvement

PME's Engineering Firm of the Year will receive permanent recognition and be honored in a feature article in the November 2002 issue. Nominated companies can be consulting, specifying or design engineering firms. A firm's size in dollar volume of work or number of employees is not a consideration. Rather, the award seeks to identify companies that strive to be the best at what they do--regardless of size--and that constantly seek to improve and enhance all aspects of their organization.

To nominate your company or another company, submit three copies of a detailed statement about why you feel the firm is deserving of this honor. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 1, 2002. Include the name, phone number and e-mail address of a contact person at the company. Your nomination, in triplicate, can be sent to: Kelly Johnson, 1050 Rt. 83, Suite 200, Bensenville, IL 60106-1096. Phone (630) 694-4379, fax (630) 694-4001, or e-mail johnsonk@bnp.com.
