The emerging global market, combined with continued industrialization of developing countries, will create significant
opportunities for engineers and the companies that employ them, according to a report released by ASME International. Titled
The Globalization of Engineering Practice, the report also cautions engineers to be mindful of all the unique challenges of doing
business across borders.
The report assesses nine emerging markets-South Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, India, Argentina, Brazil and
Mexico-based on each country's economic growth and stability, openness to new ideas and demographic information like
population growth and the number of engineers and scientists employed.
