Two new web-sites of interest to the plumbing community recently appeared on the internet:
  • www.firesprinkler.org/hfsc is the internet address for the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC). The web-site features the coalition's newsletter, a slide show of a side-by-side comparison of two homes involved in similar fires, one with fire sprinklers and one without, and an e-mail subscription list for those wishing to stay informed of HSFC activities. Coalition members include the American Fire Sprinkler Association, National Fire Protection Association, National Fire Sprinkler Association and Underwriters Laboratories.

  • www.dejanews.com/~plumbingengr is a new discussion forum for plumbing and fire protection engineers. Discussions focus on industry standards, equipment, codes and professional development. Users can also post questions or comments on a bulletin board. According to the web-site's creator Carl Sherman, C.I.P.E. of Rockville, Md., "I sometimes have questions or run into design problems that I could use some help with and I'm sure there are many others out there who feel the same. Hopefully, we can get some people interested here and see what happens."
