PM EngineerEditor Jim Olsztynski and hydronic heating columnist Dan Holohan were among PHC industry presenters appearing on the premiere Webcast of the Internet "TV station" www.hvactv.com on Aug. 29. Subsequent Webcasts will take place on the last Tuesday of each month. Programming begins at 7:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

Holohan and Olsztynski will lead live discussions and online chats about industry-related topics. Also on tap for the premiere Webcast were technical presentations by Taco's Dave Kunz on vertical pumps, and a discussion of zone valve controls with Dave Sweet, another Taco technical representative. Another discussion focused on using e-mail effectively.

HVACtv is a venture of Ed Nowak, Jr. and Dan Sheppard of the Providence, RI-based advertising agency Sheppard Legar Nowak, Inc., which represents Taco and other PHC industry accounts. Nowak described it as "a place for industry professionals to talk to one another and to provide information they can use on a daily basis."

You can view the Webcasts by registering at www.hvactv.com, and downloading the appropriate media player from the site.

A beta test Webcast took place July 25 to a limited audience. A "beta test" is done simply to ensure the technical aspects of the Webcast work as planned. The Aug. 29 program was to be the first Webcast promoted to the industry at large.
