Over
the past several weeks, the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has opened a regional office in the Chicago
metropolitan area; IAPMO Research and Testing announced its new online Product Listing
Application; and the IAPMO Backflow Prevention Institute unveiled a new
test stand to
improve backflow prevention training at all levels.
Over
the past several weeks, the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has made three important initiatives. In mid-May,
the organization announced the opening of a regional office in the Chicago
metropolitan area and the hiring of two new management staff: Terrence A.
Leppellere, P.E., as director of member services and Kathleen Mihelich as
manager of career services.
In April, IAPMO Research and Testing (R&T), which does plumbing and
mechanical product evaluation, announced its new online Product Listing
Application, which lets manufacturers create an account on the IAPMO R&T
Web site in order to submit information online, check on current applications,
make modifications or additions to existing files, and list new
products.
Also in April, the IAPMO Backflow Prevention Institute (BPI) unveiled a new
test stand designed by the United Association’s Local 3 in Denver, CO, to
improve backflow prevention training at all levels. The portable test stands
met a strict list of requirements by BPI, including easy assembly, lightness,
durability, and manageability of shipping containers.
