  • GlobalSpec (www.globalspec.com) has announced the launch of its online community, CR4SM-The Engineer’s Place for News and Discussion. Located at http://cr4.globalspec.com, the site provides a collaborative environment for engineers, scientists, technical researchers and related professionals. CR4 offers visitors access to open, industry-based forums where they can discuss important engineering issues and seek out answers to technical questions. Additionally, the site contains blogs from industry professionals, tracking news, trends and technological advancements. Registration is offered at no cost and users are invited to participate in the forums and blog discussions.

  • The Viking Group has announced the launch of its new website, www.vikinggroupinc.com, which offers a single, consolidated site for Viking Group companies worldwide–Viking Corp., Viking SupplyNet, Viking Fabrication Services, and Viking Electronic Services. Available in six languages, this new global website features a wide array of resources on Viking’s products and services. One of the most significant enhancements is an expanded library of technical data for products available through Viking SupplyNet, including sprinklers, valves and related products. Additionally, the site features a news center, events page, global locations listing and an enhanced careers section. There also is a new “resources” section where visitors can download system specifications, troubleshooting guides, technical white papers, Viking technical seminar information and get answers to frequently asked questions.

  • MEPatWORK.com has partnered with the Mechanical Contractors of North Carolina (MCofNC) organization to provide their members with an online career center solution for reaching a targeted pool of skilled laborers. The need for more skilled laborers, especially in the HVAC industry, continues to escalate. According to a recent job outlook report issued by CareerOverview.com, the refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heating installation industries will grow the fastest, experiencing a 32% increase in job growth over the next eight years.  “The MCofNC Career Center allows members to reach the critical masses,” says MEPatWORK.com Vice President of Marketing Georgann Smith.
