
More than 47,000 HVAC&R professionals filled the aisles and booths at the 59th AHR Expo in Dallas, Jan. 29-31, as the world’s largest HVAC&R event set a new record.
According to show management, the 2007 AHR Expo had 1,789 exhibitors (more than 300 international and 172 new exhibitors) from 32 countries taking up 354,057 net square feet of exhibit space. The 2007 AHR Expo was the largest show ever in the Southwest in total attendance with more than 47,000 total attendees, including more than 28,000 visitors. Included in the visitors total is an impressive 5,270 international attendees.
Besides the new all-time Southwest record, the 2007 event featured nine
international pavilions (six from China and pavilions from Brazil, Korea and
Thailand); two New Product Technology Theaters; a Building Automation &
Control Showcase; an expanded Software Center; the 5th annual Innovation
Awards, which were presented to nine companies in nine categories in
recognition of advances in innovation, application, value to user and market;
and a total of 62 educational sessions presented by ASHRAE, ARI, AHR Expo and
other endorsing associations on a wide range of topics, including ‘Green
Buildings-Automation for a Sustainable Future.’
The exposition is co-sponsored by the American Society of Heating,
Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning
and Refrigeration Institute (ARI). The
Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is an honorary
sponsor. Each year, ASHRAE’s winter
meeting is held concurrently year with the AHR Expo.
The 2008 AHR Expo will be held Jan. 22-24 in New York City at the Javits
Center.
