Sunroc Corp., which less than two years ago reported annual sales in excess of $50 million, announced that it will close permanently June 30.

The statement followed a March 1 announcement by company CEO Anthony Salamone that Sunroc would lay off 70 employees at the end of April because of the loss of a water cooler reconditioning contract. Sunroc's final closure will result in termination of the plant's remaining 124 employees, Salamone said in an April 15 letter addressed to Dover, DE, Mayor Stephen R. Speed.

The company "intends to permanently cease all of its manufacturing, shipping and other operations and close the entire plant on June 30, 2005,"
