IHS and CSI announced an alliance for online distribution of the MasterFormat 2004 Edition and Transition Matrix to construction industry professionals.

IHS (www.ihs.com), a leading international provider of critical technical information, content integration, decision support tools, and technical standards and specifications, and CSI (www.csinet.org), a leading provider of technical information and products and common organizational systems for the construction industry, announced an alliance for online distribution of the MasterFormat 2004 Edition and Transition Matrix to construction industry professionals. Organizations now will be able to buy site licenses for MasterFormat through this agreement between CSI and IHS.

MasterFormat 2004 Edition is the most significant revision in the product's 40-year history, and the first new version since 1995. The Transition Matrix supplied as part of the new subscription service eases the task of referencing from older versions of MasterFormat to MasterFormat 2004. The online subscription from IHS is an alternative delivery media for MasterFormat. A major benefit of the online subscription service is that it ensures the fastest delivery of incremental updates to MasterFormat 2004, facilitating collaboration among architects, specifiers, contractors, suppliers and building owners, helping all parties meet project requirements, timelines and budgets. MasterFormat will continue to available in hard copy from CSI.
