Delta-Therm Corp. introduces its commercial roof and gutter deicing cable (CO-6), which is CSA-certified for wet locations when installed with the thermoplastic overjacket and PCK-RGP power connection kit. The CO-6 cable outputs between 5 and 7 watts per lineal foot, depending upon the operating voltage and weather conditions. In contrast, typical roof deicing system designs require a snow/ice sensor along with an ambient temperature sensor to automate the system. With most commercial buildings, there is usually a north side and south side, which require separate controllers due to weather conditions including sun fall patterns.
