The new Rheem-Ruud Xtreme Commercial Gas Water Heater combines a compact, integral tank design with high Btu inputs for use in commercial applications.

The new Rheem-Ruud Xtreme Commercial Gas Water Heater combines a compact, integral tank design with high Btu inputs to meet the hot water needs of commercial applications requiring large quantities in a short span of time. Offering a thermal efficiency rating of 80%, the Xtreme can generate up to 756 gallons of 160 degrees F water in one hour, based on an inlet water temperature of 60 degrees F. Individual Xtreme water heaters can also be manifolded together to further boost gas input and hot water capacity, while providing redundancy for those applications that cannot afford to be without hot water for even a short period. With a 30-inch jacket diameter, the Xtreme offers a significantly smaller installation footprint than that of non-integral, tank-type hot-water systems. Installation flexibility is maximized with a tank height of less than 75 inches, plus inlet/outlet water connections on the front side and the rear side of the unit. Clearance to combustibles is only four inches along the sides and rear of the unit and 12 inches at the top. The new Xtreme is available with three different, natural-gas inputs: 550,000, 640,000 and 715,000 Btu per hour. The first two of these models, the GX90-550 and the GX90-640, meet the new low-NOx emission requirements of California and Texas. In addition, three liquid propane models are available, with Btu/h inputs of 500,000, 600,000 and 680,000.Rheem-Ruud.
