REHAU has introduced its new PEX residential fire protection program integrating sprinklers with cold water plumbing for one multipurpose system. Comprised of RAUPEX® pipe and EVERLOC® fittings, REHAU's system meets requirements for multipurpose sprinkler systems as defined by the National Fire Protection Association in accordance with NFPA 13D for one- and two-family dwellings and manufactured housing. The integrated design lowers construction costs by eliminating redundancy of separated piping systems, thus reducing installation labor. Each sprinkler is served by either 3/4" or 1" RAUPEX pipe, which is REHAU's specially formulated cross-linked polyethylene (PEXa) pipe manufactured suing the high-pressure peroxide (Engel) method. The plumbing system is then integrated by teeing off the fire protection system, typically with 1/2" or 3/4" RAUPEX pipe to feed the plumbing fixtures. The EVERLOC compression sleeve fitting system allows for quick and easy connections without flame, heat or solvent. The fittings are corrosion resistant and feature a larger diameter than other PEX fittings, resulting in excellent flow characteristics and less pressure loss.REHAU.
