The California Building Standards Commission has voted not to use the International Building Code to update the California Building Standards Code.
The California Building Standards Commission has voted not to use the International Building Code as part of its effort to update the California Building Standards Code. The Commission elected to continue using the 1997 Uniform Building Code as the basis for the 2001 edition of the California Building Standards Code.
The Commission is charged with reviewing, approving and publishing building standards adopted by state agencies. Every three years, the Commission publishes a new edition of the California Building Standards Code in an effort to keep the standards updated.
