On March 31, the National Fire Protection Association named Casey Grant the executive director of the Fire Protection Research Foundation. The foundation is an affiliate of NFPA and manages research on a wide range of fire safety issues in support of the group’s mission.

“Casey brings years of experience with the Foundation, the NFPA and deep research expertise to his new leadership role,” NFPA President Jim Pauley said. “Through his great accomplishments directing a wide range of research, Casey is uniquely qualified to lead the Foundation in advancing NFPA’s mission.”

Previously, Grant served as research director for the Foundation. He is a registered professional engineer in fire protection in California and Tennessee. Before joining the Foundation in 2007, Grant was the secretary of the NFPA Standards Council and assistant chief engineer for nearly 20 years.
